
Digital advertising is currently the most demanded service worldwide, including in Armenia. The budget for digital advertising is growing progressively, with companies allocating more and more funds to digital ads each year.
The reason for this is efficiency, as our lives have transformed and adapted to digital reality. This means we are using the internet more frequently. Naturally, the advertising market could not ignore this reality and had to increase its presence on the internet as well.
The rules for placing advertisements on news websites have slightly changed nowadays. Specifically, this refers to banner ads. If 7-8 years ago, the payment for banner ads was fixed, depending on the size, format, and location of the ad, now websites earn money from these ads based on each view.
Yana Yanikyan, the media director of the “Media Systems” advertising agency, says that they have been experimenting for a year with a new method: paying for banner ads based on user actions, such as downloading the advertised service or registering.
